  1990年中国科学院研究生院毕业,获民族植物学硕士学位; 

  1992年菲律宾国立大学环境资源管理研修,获环境学硕士文凭; 

  2001年中国农业大学环境资源管理毕业,获博士学位; 

  1996—1998年担任国际保护和发展论坛理事会常务理事; 

  1996年和2000年两次被选为国际民族生物学学会理事会理事; 

  1999—2004年全球变化地球生物圈土地利用和地被覆盖(LUCC-IGBP/IHDP)常务委员; 

  2001—2005年担任联合国粮农组织亚太地区社区林业培训中心理事会理事、副主席; 

  2009—至今,国际生态与健康学会理事(IAEH) 

  20047月—20077月:任国际山地综合发展中心水、灾害和环境管理部主任; 

    20078月至今担任世界农用林业中心高级科学家、首席科学家,东亚与中亚首席代表。
